Socks for your tables

I saw this fantastic design group
Taschide from Germany on salone de mobile in Milan. The two young designers see themselves as go-betweens who bring the various disciplines of the trade together. Architecture, industrial or product design: 'taschide' know how to combine different approaches with perfection and thus achieve results that fascinate their customers.

hope table from Rafael Morgan

Beautiful table from Rafael Morgan. this is what he says about his own table design: The hope table is not only about hope, it is about beauty and visual poetry. It is about telling other young designers like me to never give up creating original designs.
There are great ideas everywhere…You just have to look into the right way. Maybe ideas are just like a message in a bottle, floating in the deep ocean, just waiting for the right people to find it.

It´s all about hope! Never give up!

Inpiration from the nature

In Milan I saw that more and more companies begin to take inspiration from nature and the trend bend over toward a design concerned about the environment. These images are from Viva Terra the company only work with ecological materials, for us to live in a healthier environment. Beautiful, simple and energetic.

Surfaces from CAPOD´OPERA

Though i have a thing for ornaments and patterns, my Swedish background is always going to favour the simple and minimalistic shapes. This is an interesting company I found on the Milan furniture fair. They challenge the opposites; minimalism and simplicity with luxury and decoration. CAPOD´OPERA is based in Italy, take a look at their stylish website.

Patterns from MILANO

Above the trends listed below, patterns are still in fashion, luckily for me. this time in every thinkable form, preferably incorporated into the existing furniture. Some designers to look at is Sam Baron, (accessorise), Sergio Botti (tables), Omar Carraglia for Davide Groppie (lights) Bruno Rainaldi (lamps) and much more..

MILANO Furniture fair 2007

Trends from Milan: "naturalism (leaves, raw wood, bamboo and green), glitz & glam (huge with glitter stuff), handmade touches (exposed stitching, joints and details like oversized hinges and screws), geometric/faceted designs (my favourite) and yellow (mostly a pollen/chartreuse hue seen in everything from fabric to powder-coated steel chairs)." And no colours, just black and white. Everything we saw in fashion last year.
