Karin, my fantastic multifunctional friend has butterflies in her stomach. material of the week

M2uur bv develops, produces and installs specially printed wall panels and facing panels that are unique to each client’s personal requirements. All types of digital image (photographic, typographic, illustrative or graphic) can be incorporated into wall and façade coverings.

The advantage of this is that whereas in the past development, production and installation required the services of three separate parties, now the client only has to deal with one single contact point.

the illustrator of the week

Hannah Stouffer
is like the Baudelairian flaneur of the French boulevards in her own private world. With an authentic passion for the imagery that informs her reality, Stouffer cites both Monster Truck rallies and Parisian wallpaper among the visual panorama that inspires her to actualize what goes on in her mind’s eye.

Lisa Bengtsson

Just received those lovely patterns from my friend, Lisa Bengtsson who’s a graphical designer. I’m amazed how she surprises me with something new and stunning every day. Do I sense a trend leaving the floral patterns and going towards more abstract black & white photos? Look more at her Flickr. And if you are in my hometown Stockholm around may you have to stop by at her final exhibition.

karins jewellery

I would call her my multifunctional friend, Karin from Sweden. Last time I saw her she was doing industrial design, now she’s doing everything from graphical design to mobile pockets and recently I discovered her new topic is jewellery. Enjoy more of those beautiful pieces at her Blog site.

environmentally friendly fabrics

Every day the teachers struggle to incorporate environmentally- friendly things to our design. So here I found a company which makes environmentally friendly wallpapers and fabrics.

At Mod Green Pod, they offers products that are environmentally-friendly and home-healthy, with 100% organic cotton for the fabrics clean, vinyl-free finish for the wallpapers. Grown without toxic chemicals or pesticides, organic cotton is healthier for the earth’s soil and water, animals, farmers, manufacturers, and finally, YOU. Conventional cotton production uses 25% of the world's insecticides and 10% of the world's pesticides, despite using only 3% of the world's cropland.

refreshing a corner?

This is a good example of how a simple corner could look different depending on the colour of the wall. Wouldn’t it be something to design a wallpaper where it changes colour depending on your mood.

week of pattern

Two patterns that I created...

wall decoration

This simple graffiti flower makes you wall definitely more alive. Put the flower in a position were it's not expected and the effect will be even more influential to the rest of the room. The picture is from Marie Claire.

If you prefer a more controlled flower this image is lovely to have over your bed. Picture from apartment therapy

This light installation from Vanessa Hannen is delightful. FLATTER reflects light from the wall and can be used to hang bags or accessories. The display comes in two sizes and four colours; red, blue, green and pink.
